Ethereum Foundation set a trillion-dollar target: New initiative announced
The Ethereum Foundation announced the "Trillion Dollar Security" initiative aimed at elevating the security of Ethereum to a higher level.
As part of this initiative, the foundation aims to build an ecosystem where billions of people, as well as companies, institutions, and governments, can trust to store more than 1 trillion dollars in value on a single smart contract or application.
The project will reveal the strong aspects of Ethereum in terms of security and potential attack vectors. The foundation will prepare a report on this matter, and the report will serve as a guide to determine what should be focused on. Security improvements will be made for the identified focal points. In this context, high-priority fixes will be implemented in the short term in close collaboration with the ecosystem, and investments will be made in long-term development projects. Finally, more effective communication regarding the security of Ethereum will be conducted.
The project will initially be led by Fredrik Svantes, Protocol Security Lead, and Josh Stark, a member of the foundation's management team. They will be guided by three important names representing the ecosystem and will offer contributions and suggestions. These names were announced as Security Alliance founder and security expert samczsun, Mehdi Zerouali, co-founder of Sigma Prime, which works on blockchain security, and security expert Zach Obront, co-founder of Etherealize.
In a statement regarding the issue, it was noted that more details about the initiative would be shared in the coming days, and it was stated, "With this initiative, we aim to further elevate the security standards of Ethereum and invite the world to blockchain."
