I have a fren working in Mexico, and what annoys him the most is sending money home.
The transaction fees are ridiculously high, and it takes three to five days for the funds to arrive. Every time he complains and curses:
"This is not a remittance at all, it's simply sending money to the bank for drinks."
Until recently, he suddenly messaged me:
"Bro, I am now using @Aptos to transfer USDC home, it will arrive in a few minutes, and the fee is cheaper than buying a beer."
I was completely confused: Aptos? Isn't that the public chain often referred to as the "VC chain"? When did it get into cross-border payments?
Later I found out that Aptos quietly partnered with the leading Latin American exchange @Bitso, directly covering 9 million users, and instantly connecting the "veins" of cross-border payments between Mexico and the US.
Moreover, the plan is not limited to Mexico; Argentina, Colombia, and Brazil are all included in the blueprint.
In the past, everyone joked about Aptos's high TPS, but now it has truly brought its on-chain performance advantages into real payment scenarios.
In the back and forth, my fren's wallet benefits the most.
The "VC chain" we speak of is becoming the most reliable stablecoin payment infrastructure for the common people in Latin America.
Perhaps by 2025, Aptos's identity will be completely transformed.
