Bitcoin fell while Ether hit a record: "Altcoins will rise too"
As of Monday morning, Bitcoin is trading at around $112,500, while last night Ether set another record. The price of Ether surpassed $4,957, breaking its second record in two days.
"The rise was not strong"
Vincent Liu, the manager of Kronos Research, speaking to The Block from the US media about the decline, said, "There was a sharp rise after Powell's speech, but it was not backed by substance. Without new liquidity coming in, the rise remained weak and limited. Bitcoin has also returned to its former level."
"Altcoins will also rise"
Liu also stated that movements in Ether would have a positive impact on altcoins and said the following:
"ETH ETF staking is also on the horizon. This situation will significantly increase staking activity. Therefore, I expect altcoin performances to stand out as well. Institutional purchases will also trigger altcoin rallies. Ether will remain at the center of crypto for some time."
"Whales are transitioning to Ether"
Experts pointed to whale movements and the "transition" regarding the impact of the decline in Bitcoin on Ether. WhaleWire CEO Jacob King shared screenshots on his social media account showing the movements of a whale transferring its Bitcoin in chunks of 3,000 to 6,000 BTC to various addresses:
"The whale sold more than 24,000 BTC. A large portion of the money was transferred to Ether. A purchase of 2 billion dollars was made, and 1.3 billion dollars is also on hold for staking transactions."
Nick Ruck from LVRG Research also confirmed that investors holding high-value Bitcoin have transitioned to Ether. Ruck stated that institutional purchases have also kept the price of Ether high.
As of Monday morning, Bitcoin is trading at $112,500, and Ether is at $4,700.
