Record foreign investment in yen assets in April

Jin10 data reported on May 17, as massive funds withdraw from the U.S. financial markets, overseas funds purchased a record amount of Japanese stocks and long-term bonds in April. Data provided by the Japanese government shows that overseas investors bought Japanese stocks and long-term bonds worth 8.21 trillion yen (approximately 56.6 billion USD) in April. According to data from Morningstar, this marks the largest net inflow of overseas funds into the Japanese financial market in a single month since the Japanese Ministry of Finance began collecting relevant data in 1996.
